Promotion. I, personally, have noticed three types of promotional campaigns from authors — the mega blitz, which can include bottle openers, pop can cozies, and calendars; the going-through-the-motions promo, which is usually bookmarks that get limited distribution and some web banners; and the non-existent campaign.
