| Short and mostly painless bio:
S. J. Day’s resume includes a variety of odd jobs ranging from amusement park employee to Russian linguist/interrogator for the U.S. Army Military Intelligence. She’s presently a full-time writer. A native Southern Californian, S.J. thinks there’s no place like home, but she loves to travel. Her adventures have taken her to Japan, Holland, Germany, France, Mexico, Jamaica, and all over the United States. She’s now hard at work on her next book. Longer, possibly too long bio: This is where I tell you about me, I suppose. Not my favorite thing to do—I find it awkward—but here goes. I’ve been a published author for over four years now and have been blessed to have sold 17 novels and several novellas to several different publishers during that time. I’ve won many awards for my writing and a few of my books have been national bestsellers. No matter what genre I write in, I have a few storytelling “trademarks” — strong but sympathetic heroine, moments of humor, plot twists, sexual tension (one of my strengths, if I say so myself), vivid descriptions, and breakneck pacing. I was born in South Central Los Angeles and moved to Orange County, CA when I was in the fourth grade. I stayed until my early-20’s, when I joined the U.S. Army Military Intelligence as a Russian Linguist/Interrogator. My family still lives in Orange County. I live a bit further inland now, in a wine valley. I travel extensively in conjunction with various speaking engagements. In addition to presenting workshops before writing groups around the country, I’m a frequent panelist at events such as the RT BOOKlovers Convention, RWA’s National Convention, and Comic-Con. Thanks for stopping by! S.J. |
